The United Kingdom regulations on fire and rescue service risk assessment are stringent. The incident commander, whether the officer in charge of the first-arriving pump or a chief officer during a significant operation, must document the risk analysis and decisions taken. Meeting these standards without compromising operational speed requires software support. In response, Motorola Solutions acquired 3tc Software, an established UK fire service software developer, in November 2024 [link].
At Critical Communications World 2025, the team demonstrated the mobile data terminal (MDT) application's capabilities, including support for mobilization (receiving an alert from the control room Computer Aided Dispatch software), mapping, location risk assessment, formal dynamic risk assessment, and incident organizational chart creation.
